Job Description

Research Coordinator Rheumatology, Pediatrics Department of Paediatrics in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Coordinator Rheumatology . This is a fulltime fixedterm position for approximately twelve months, with potential extension based on grant funding. The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Calgary is committed to excellence in clinical services, education, research and knowledge translation. As a member of the Division of Rheumatology team, the Research Coordinator reports to the Principal Investigator. Summary of Key Responsibilities Coordinate and administer research projects per established study protocols and study procedure manuals Obtain informed consent, and ensuring appropriate and timely followup for research studies Recruit and explain research to new participants Ensure complete and accurate data collection and entry into electronic databases in a timely fashion Perform regular quality control checks on data entries Train new staff, students and volunteers in participant recruitment, consent and questionnaire administration Collaborate with investigative team, physicians, nurses and clinic staff to ensure timely implementation and completion of research activities Work closely with other research team members to design and implement other studies being conducted Complete Research Ethics submissions, amendments and renewals as required for Division endorsed CARRA projects Maintain confidential research data management Conduct analyses of data collected through study Platform and associated projects Work closely with the Primary Investigator in analytics and reporting, development of documents for reporting to investigative team and stakeholders, and manuscript preparation for publication Qualifications / Requirements Bachelor's Degree (required) Bachelor of Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Public Health, or Sciences Master's Degree (considered an asset) Health Sciences, Health Services Research, Epidemiology or Public Health 25 years of related research experience CCRP or SOCRA certification an asset Experience administering and/or interviewing study participants Previous experience working in a health institution and with patients will be an asset Extensive knowledge of research policies and procedures Ability to plan and direct research and administrative activities within a team environment Ability to support other team members and related units or teams Ability to solve complex problems Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Good verbal communicator, with English language fluency, a good listener, and ability to clarify requested information Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research ethics and regulations for granting agencies (e.g., Tri Council) Demonstrated ability in professional writing, preparing reports and conducting literature reviews Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable Application Deadline November 6, 2025 Equal Employment Opportunity The University of Calgary recognizes the value of diversity and inclusion.
