Assistant Director (Director in Training) Join us at Active Start Child Care as an Assistant Director (Director in Training). We are a distinguished early learning institution serving children from 12 months through kindergarten. About The Role We are looking for an Assistant Director to work at both our Sage Hill and Country Hills locations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in child care and leadership roles, a solid understanding of child development, and a commitment to nurturing positive relationships with children and colleagues. What Youll Do Oversee programming, observe and mentor staff, and manage daytoday operations. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety. Provide tours to prospective families on occasion. Answer phone calls and emails. Ensure resources and materials for planning and implementation. Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters and updates. Cultivate positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. Work as part of a management team and support educators. Participate in professional development initiatives. Adhere to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start policies. Qualifications Minimum of two years experience in a supervisory or director role in child care. Alberta Child Care Level 3 Certification (or equivalent). Experience with OHS, Fire Safety, and Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Professional, adaptable, and fluent in English. Current Criminal Record Check and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
