Youll also build your own future, with exciting opportunities for development and advancement.Your OpportunityAs Stantec's Mining group continues to grow, we have an opportunity for a Senior Project Controller to join our team in our Sudbury, North Bay or Calgary locations. The Senior Project Controller reports to the Project Controls Manager but on a day-to-day basis works in collaboration with Project Managers and project teams.Your Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborating With Senior Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project Planners And Schedulers, Project Accountants And Other Team Members Including Clients, The Project Controls Specialist WillActively participate in the development of project estimates, proposals, budgets, resource plans, and schedules for all project lifecycle phases.Provide Project Control support on major proposals and projects.Fully understand the scope of the assigned projects, proactively identify and communicate potential gaps and risks.Work closely with project teams to maintain a current and accurate understanding of project status, issues and changes.Communicate effectively with internal team members, leadership, financial managers, external clients and consultants.Produce lagging and leading performance indicator reports including earned value, potential change order logs, risk registers, estimates to complete, variance reports, etc. to enable proactive decision making.Keep the project teams informed of barriers to maintaining the budget and schedule, offer recommendations for corrective actions or opportunities to increase efficiencies.Work with Stantec financial team to oversee issuance of timely and accurate project invoices, follow up on Accounts Receivable and monitor 3rd party service supplier budgets and agreements.Develop and cultivate positive relationships with Clients.Continuously seek to improve Project Controls processesYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperienced with engineering, underground mine development and construction.Familiar with environmental and regulatory requirementsExtensive experience in engineering, procurement and execution plan development including resource loading, performance tracking, forecast validation and change management.Must have a proven track record of positively contributing to a multi-disciplinary project design, procurement and construction team.Strong task management skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities across multiple projects.Demonstrated success in building trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholdersStrong leadership, communicative, analytical and adaptability skills.Proficiency with MS 365 Office suite, particularly Excel. Skills & experience with other software solutions (SAP, Oracle/P6, Contruent, InEight, Etc.) is also desirable.Experience with Artificial Intelligence platforms is desirable.Must be self-sufficient, self-motivated, and possess the ability to multitask.Education and ExperienceProfessional degree in engineering is considered an assetCompletion of a diploma or degree in a certified project management program is considered an assetCompletion of AACE certification (CCP/EVP) is an asset10+ years of related experience in a project environment with an engineering and / or construction backgroundOtherThis role is typical of hybrid office environments, working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
