For more than 150 years, we have been helping growers achieve the highest yields with the most sustainable solutions possible, offering a wide selection of products, including our proprietary brands: Loveland Products, Inc.; ProvenSeed and Dyna-GroSeed; as well as financial, custom application and precision ag services.Job DescriptionThe Sales Agronomist will be responsible for recommending appropriate Nutrien products and fertilizer products to customers, identifying, procuring and caring for grower demonstration plots, gathering and analyzing test results, and designing and inspecting program experiments.ResponsibilitiesRecommend appropriate Nutrien products and fertilizer products to customersIdentify, procure and care for grower demonstration plots for varietal comparison purposesGather, compile, analyze and interpret test results and prepare and forward progress reportsDesign and inspect program experiment, records, notes and seasonal staff logbooksRegularly search for new opportunities that will enhance or expand the Companys market presencePlan and conduct the field testing of designated research material using defined methods that will ensure accuracy and optimize results under experimental protocolInteract with Division and Branch Management to convey results and provide recommendations based on active knowledge of marketing requirementsDistribute variety information and recommendations to staff and customersLiaise with appropriate industry contactsAssist in promotion and recommendation of Proven Seed varieties and Loveland Products and Echelon services to farm customersIdentify local weed species, and be familiar with the biology and control of local pestsInterpret soil and tissue tests and required, and be able to recommend best practices for soil fertility management for local customersRequirementsGrade 12 or recognized equivalent, supplemented with effective completion of Certificate in Agriculture, Agri-Business Certificate, or equivalent post-secondary education2+ years of applied agronomy and/or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid class 5 drivers licenseNutrien is an equal opportunity employer.
