Job Summary & Requirements The Allied Health and Rehabilitation team, under the Maternal, Newborn, Child & Youth and Allied Health portfolio, consists of regulated healthcare professionals, including nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speechlanguage pathology, social work, dietetics, respiratory therapy and rehabilitation assistants. Each discipline focuses on evidenceinformed practice to promote highquality, patient and familycentered care. We employ a Professional Practice Leader (PPL) model for each regulated allied health discipline, enhancing interprofessional collaboration. The PPL supports community of practice, policy development, and corporate initiatives. Position Details Regular Part Time (0.6 FTE) Physiotherapist to support the acute inpatient Physiotherapy team, focused on the Transitional Care Unit under the lowintensity Transitional Rehabilitation Program (TRP). Major Responsibilities Provide physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for patients in acute inpatient and surgical settings. Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with diverse musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory needs. Collaborate with Rehabilitation Assistants and other team members to delegate appropriate care tasks. Engage families and caregivers in care planning and education. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited Physiotherapy school or university with a clinical Masters in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) Mandatory. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario Mandatory. Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Preferred. Evidence of continuing education in acute care and rehabilitation. Recent experience in acute care (medical and surgical) and/or rehabilitation settings. Theoretical and practical knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory skills. Knowledge of community services, supports and equipment vendors. Understanding of referral processes to followup services, including community physiotherapy and home care. Competencies Cooperative interprofessional teamwork.
