Conditions of Employment Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Qualifications Essential Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to budgeting and financial analysis may be considered. Experience applying General Accepted Accounting Principles, with an understanding of internal control concepts and accrual accounting practices. Experience developing and monitoring financial processes and internal controls, and interpreting and applying policies, statutes and legislation, make recommendations and improve existing processes. Experience with financial management in a complex environment including planning, budgeting, forecasting, expenditure control, and providing quantitative/qualitative analysis and making sound recommendations to support decision making. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with emphasis on Excel including manipulating data and using complex formulas. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, senior management, other government departments, and agencies. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare highly complex documents with a high level of attention to detail. Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver information in a clear and organized manner to a wide variety of audiences. Desired Experience with SAP financial management modules or other complex financial systems. Experience managing grant funding and administering funding agreements would be an asset. Duties The Financial Analyst is accountable for providing financial and administrative support to the Executive Directors and staff, as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, and forecasting needs. The Financial Analyst maintains all necessary and appropriate records, files and processes to ensure smooth and compliant financial operations, focusing on accuracy and transparency.
