Job Description

Position Overview The Production Associate I is responsible for supporting the production process by performing duties associated with cleaning, finishing, washing and packaging BWXT components. Employees may specialize in one area or perform in all areas. Your Day To Day Use material handling equipment to carefully move components from one operation to the next. May be required to move parts using a Forklift or Crane. Must be certified to operate. Use various hand tools to perform light deburring work on stainless steel parts for small cell components. Lubricate parts by using a cloth to rub a powdery substance onto stainless steel parts. Use Acetone to clean parts per Standard Operating Procedures. Package stainless steel parts by following standard operating procedures for each part. Mark parts using the Electro Chemical Etch process, Dot Peen or Vibro Pen as required. Organize and inventory parts as necessary to ensure preparedness for next operation. May support cleaning and 5S initiatives of Production and Office areas. Take immediate and appropriate action whenever a deviation or non-conformance is identified. May support Material Handlers in the movement and organization of parts. Administration Follow all company policies and health and safety procedures. Promote various safety initiatives and demonstrate a safety first mindset. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required. Report any personal workplace injuries to direct supervisor immediately. Report safety issues to direct supervisor as soon as possible. Maintain an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas. Set a positive example by maintaining a respective attitude, cooperating with co-workers, management, and internal and external customers. Be a productive team member and help meet established departmental and Company goals. Report to work for your regularly scheduled shifts on time and ready to work. Effectively give and receive feedback and willingly ask questions and seek direction when needed. May work any and all shifts/days as required. Willingly accept responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees. Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Accountabilities High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Certified forklift and crane operation certificates an asset. Demonstrated mechanical skills/mechanically inclined. Experience working in the nuclear, aerospace, or defense industry an asset. Highly dextrous with extreme attention to detail. Strong communication (verbal/written) and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently to complete assignments promptly. Salary and Compensation The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $42,000 and $58,000 per year. Additional compensation may include an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits.
