Overview Job Title: Field Applications Engineer Division: Precision FLSA: Exempt Grade: NA Job Status: Full Time Travel Required: 50% Revision Date: 22 October 2025 Reports To: Field Applications Engineer Manager Purpose of Position Responsible for field engineering support of all Precision Inc. products within the assigned territory and/or products including but not limited to technical product performance issues (SARs), product applications and gathering of technical data to quote and produce PPI-Global products. Responsibilities Respond to customer needs within the assigned territory and/or product range. The assigned territory will require a focus on Industrial and Heavy Mining Conveyor products. Provide technical support services over the phone for the Sales Ops organization, especially while working in the home office when not traveling. Travel domestically with some international travel; minimum 50% travel commitment; ability to drive and/or fly for extended periods. Manage accounts or projects within the territory. On-site services include surveys, technical product information, conveyor design training, conveyor component training, problem solving, root cause analysis, and applications engineering. Conduct failure analysis and reporting. Establish good communication with Product Engineering and the Territory Sales team to ensure high customer service; weekly/posted communication of travel itineraries to supervisor and affected team members. Understand Precision Inc. products and their applications. Be responsible for labor reporting when Precision Inc. charges for field services, including details of work performed, time, and cost charged to the customer. Adhere to safety rules and guidelines; obtain necessary certifications (Certificate of Insurance during planning; OSHA and MSHA where applicable). Demonstrate proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video conferencing (Zoom/Teams) and email. Maintain honesty, trustworthiness, strong work ethic and positive attitude; apply good verbal and written communication for internal and external customers. Work hours may vary based on customer demands; regular attendance required; extended hours may be required. Analyze, inspect and recommend products to be reworked, refurbished, or modified; provide reports where required. May lead a team of 3-4 individuals on-site for Life Cycle management of PPI products at contracted locations, including monthly performance reviews and technical support for contracted locations. Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes/particles, outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, electrical risk, vibration. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
