We have an opening for a Commercial Insurance Advisor (Independent Business Unit) to join our Commercial Team working from our office in Pickering on a Permanent Full Time Basis . Perks of working with us: Flexible health and dental insurance benefits package Personal Spending amount to invest in your healthy lifestyle RRSP - Registered Retirement Savings Plan with Company matching ESPP - Employee Share Purchase Plan (TSX:IFC) with matching Dress for your day dress according to your daily schedule Competitive compensation package with bonus potential Employee discount program, including Apple, Bell, Rogers and more Paid Time Off: Personal days, Volunteer days, Exam/Study Time, Jury Duty; starting at 3 weeks of vacation per year Recognition as one of Canadas best employers (Kincentric 2024) The Role Entails Consistently finding new ways to generate leads and referrals to build and maintain a pipeline of prospects Serve ongoing client needs, advise on insurance matters, conduct needs assessments, recommend solutions, answer inquiries, conduct care calls and process renewals Sell new policies/write new business to existing or new clients; retain existing book of business Quote new business through outbound initiatives, introductory letters and walk-in clients Contact underwriters and adjusters to discuss guidelines and policy Prepare documentation for insurers, complete applications, issue certificates, process changes and review renewals Stay current on underwriting rules and workflow processes Actively participate in training initiatives and community marketing Process accounts receivable activities Provide guidance and assistance as requested The Successful Candidate Will Have Equivalent skills considered if applicable High School and/or Post-Secondary Education Previous Commercial Insurance experience, or at least two years in Personal Insurance RIBO License or equivalent Excellent customer service skills and adept in conflict resolution Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to pass a criminal and credit check We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
