Overview Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for a major oil and gas producer. Based in Edson, AB office on a 6-12 month contract. MondayFriday, 8 hour days with some travel to field sites. Reports to the Senior Coordinator. The Maintenance Planner coordinates day-to-day preventative and corrective activities and uses SAP to optimize resources and materials, supporting an integrated planning and scheduling process. Responsibilities Safety Lead and enforce HSE policies, standards, and Life Saving Rules. Ensure safety is prioritized in all operations and promote a strong safety culture. Conduct and participate in safety meetings; ensure safe work procedures are integrated into all plans. Leadership & Collaboration Align work with the companys Purpose, Values, and corporate standards. Coach, mentor, and train staff to improve safety and efficiency. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and contractors for integrated work planning. Serve as SAP PM resource, providing training and system support. Technical Responsible for detailed and accurate planning to enable safe, timely, and cost-effective work, aligned with M&R, Operational, and Regulatory standards. This includes: Ensuring materials, resources, services, and equipment required for each work order are identified and available. Requisitioning resources and materials. Providing accurate cost estimates. Providing accurate cost coding to vendors. Attaching relevant documentation to the work package. Assigning qualified vendors to undertake work. Manage the planning backlog and coordinate with integrated partners to ensure work requests are ready to schedule. For break-in work, create work orders for tracking costs and history. Facilitate weekly schedule review meetings with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to discuss ongoing activities, prioritize work, review upcoming planned work for the next two weeks, and identify maintenance requirements. Identify gaps in SAP master data compliance with M&R master data standards and address issues (e.g., asset register, equipment static data, cost centers related to maintenance plans). Provide input into improvement and optimization of PM Plans. Develop Standard Job Plans, including task lists, with input from Coordinators, Craftsmen, and vendors. Manage PM plans; develop new and refine existing plans where applicable. Provide support to the RCFA process. Provide input into requirements for commonly used spare parts in support of Materials Management. Leverage warehouse and surplus inventory during the planning cycle, in support of Materials Management. Support bidding and execution of major maintenance events and overhauls as required. Perform active debriefing and after-action reviews to surface key lessons and continuously improve planning quality. Participate in monthly cost review and annual budget development meetings with Maintenance Coordinators, Senior Trades, Maintenance Planners and Operations. Leverage performance metrics, including PM completion data, to ensure processes operate effectively and provide reports as required. Identify, prioritize, implement, and support continuous improvement opportunities. Promote a disciplined culture for accuracy and management of PM master data. Collaborate with Operations in turnaround planning; develop task lists for repetitive tasks and turnaround activities. Participate as a member of project teams related to Production Operations and cross-functional initiatives as required. Support the MOC process. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in Planning and Scheduling. Strong and proven commitment to safety. Strong communication skills; works well in a team environment. Strong leadership abilities; able to plan multiple activities. In-depth knowledge of maintenance planning fundamentals, including capacity planning and scheduling. Reside within commuting distance of Edson (office-based position). Minimum of three years experience as a Journeyman Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation is preferred. Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP). Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling processes; demonstrates skill in SAP PM and MM modules.
