Grow with us, H2O+U.Your OpportunityIn this position as an Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.An Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist will complete tasks on water and wastewater facilities, and conveyance pipelines projects such as pump/ lift stations. Work performed will be under the general supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician/ Technologist or Engineer.Your ResponsibilitiesCoordinates with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.Supports the project team in development of design, documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements.Performs calculations to analyze and design electrical system components.Draws on proactive and analytical problem-solving skills to deliver robust electrical models.Assists in the coordination of design and specifications within the context of a multidisciplinary design team.Develops and updates equipment and tag lists.Reviews documentation such as shop drawings for key technical information.Conducts site observation and/or inspection activities during design or construction phases of the project.Works closely with the Electrical Engineer and engineering group to advise on project tools usage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.Performs thorough quality control of construction documents and provides design ideas and solutions.Your Capabilities and CredentialsAbility to work with others on large complex projects.Working knowledge of electrical CEC code and industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, API, and CSA.Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Proficient in relevant software programs including AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.Education and ExperienceElectrical Engineering Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination ofMinimum of 5-6 years of experience in electrical system design and drafting on water/wastewater infrastructure projects.Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Benefits and Company InformationStantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each others talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for locations where required. Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
