**UNIFOR LOCAL 302 POSTINGS** **BASIC CUSTODIAN FLOATER** Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) provides first class education to students and families throughout Huron and Perth Counties. Our vision is to ***engage*****,** ***inspire*****,** ***innovate***, because we are ***always learning*****.** We are accepting applications for the following permanent **full-time (1.0 FTE)** Basic Custodian Floater position The home base school will be **Central Huron Secondary School (Clinton, ON)**. This position will be deployed to replace absent staff in schools across the district, as well as to provide additional support to specific sites for special projects or to assist during peak workload periods. **Hours of Work:** 40 hours per week, with a minimum hour lunch break for a total of 8.5 hours per day, 12 months per year, shift work may be involved. **Compensation Package Details:** **Mileage:** Appropriate mileage will be paid as per AP 515-Travel & Expense Reimbursement **Rate of Pay:** $26.10 - $26.59 in accordance with the Basic Custodian grid, UNIFOR Collective Agreement **Pension Plan**: Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System () **Health & Dental Benefits**: - Benefits are provided through Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP) - Comprehensive short-term and long-term disability coverage plans **Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through TELUS which includes:** - 24/7 confidential support - Access to information on personal fitness, nutrition, career, financial and legal advice; relationship & family support, and overall wellbeing resources. The Basic Custodian duties may include: **Building Maintenance** - change lights - shovel snow - operate snow blower - clean and inspect roof - operate grass cutting equipment - perform minor repairs - conduct health and safety checks - service roof top unit **Building Cleaning** - operate and maintain all equipment - perform all minor and major cleaning **The ideal candidate should possess:** - the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding; - mechanical aptitude with experience in 1 or more of the trade disciplines e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry; - exemplary interpersonal, professional and organizational skills; - the ability to use a computer e.g. GAFE; - experience in handling machinery i.e. buffing machine, lawn mowers, snowblowers; - knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies; and, - satisfactory attendance will be a consideration when awarding this position. ***Note*** *- A criminal background check will be part of the recruitment process.* **Why Join AMDSB?** - We believe our students are at the core of what we do; we are committed to creating inclusive, inspiring and innovative learning environments. - Great work culture with staff who embrace and seek meaningful careers. - Work with a diverse and dynamic team that fosters a culture of belonging and collaboration. - Competitive compensation package, which is outlined above **Apply today!** Interested applicants are requested to apply through.
