Job Description

Overview Be part of the Southern Health-Sant Sud team in the Emergency Department at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach. This temporary, in-person Unit Clerk position supports the nursing team with clerical, receptionist and communication functions on the unit. The role reports to the Director Health Services and/or Manager Health Services or Delegate and requires initiative and sound judgment in determining work priorities and methods, aligned with the organizations mission, vision and values. Responsibilities Perform clerical, receptionist and communication functions on the unit as part of the nursing team. Qualifications Education: Grade 12 or equivalent; Unit Clerk Certificate; other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered. Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in a related clinical area. Certification/Licensure/Registration: Not Applicable. Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and Email; strong written and oral communication; ability to prioritize in a changing environment; strong organizational skills; ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with facility staff; respect for cultural diversity; bilingual proficiency may be required for target positions; ability to respect confidentiality across paper, electronic formats and other mediums; reliable attendance and good work record; valid Class 5 drivers license and access to an all-purpose insured vehicle with liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 (where applicable). Physical Requirements Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job; absence of hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions; ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary. This term position may end earlier as outlined in the collective agreement.
