JOB DESCRIPTION Sous supervision technique, lexpert(e) en sinistres principal(e) enqute sur les sinistres lis la responsabilit civile des entreprises, aux biens, la responsabilit civile automobile, et gre les rclamations sy rapportant. Le ou la titulaire du poste travaille dans les limites de lautorit qui lui est confre sur des dossiers de grande complexit technique et fait preuve de coordination, utilise les politiques et lignes directrices, examine les garanties, dtermine la responsabilit et lindemnisation, protge les renseignements, procde lvaluation des dommages matriels, ngocie et rgle les sinistres. EXIGENCE OBLIGATOIRE EN MATIRE DE CERTIFICATION Les candidats doivent dtenir un certificat d'expertise en rglement de sinistres dlivr par lAutorit des marchs financiers (AMF). Les candidatures ne possdant pas cette certification ne seront pas prises en considration. PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITS tablir les provisions et autoriser les paiements dans les limites de lautorit confre, traiter efficacement les sinistres de la manire la plus rentable possible et veiller ce que les paiements soient effectus dans les dlais impartis. Coordonner et ajuster les enqutes de complexit moyenne intermdiaire sur les sinistres lis la responsabilit civile des entreprises et aux biens, en communiquant avec les titulaires de polices dassurance et les fournisseurs externes. Une exprience en responsabilit civile automobile est un atout. Analyser les garanties. Assigner des experts en sinistres indpendants ainsi que des avocats et traiter les contentieux (stratgie en matire de litiges) conformment aux lignes directrices tablies. Contribuer la rentabilit grce la mise en uvre efficace des meilleures pratiques en matire de gestion des sinistres afin de rduire le cot des pertes et les frais de sinistres. Travailler en troite collaboration avec lensemble des partenaires commerciaux internes et externes de CNA afin de partager les connaissances et dveloppements en matire de sinistres. Sassurer que les rapports appropris sont produits en temps voulu et envoys aux services de direction appropris. Formuler des recommandations sur les processus et politiques en matire de sinistres afin damliorer le service des sinistres. Ragir au changement de manire productive et grer dautres tches et projets essentiels qui lui sont confis. COMPTENCES, CONNAISSANCES ET APTITUDES Perspicacit en matire de gestion technique et commerciale, comptences en matire denqutes et de rglement de sinistres, connaissances des pratiques, procdures et principes relatifs lassurance et aux sinistres. Excellentes comptences en matire danalyse et de rsolution de problmes, capacit dfinir les priorits et grer plusieurs projets et quipes. Solides connaissances des tendances et des dfis du secteur, ainsi que des lois et des rglements du Qubec. Une exprience en sinistres dans les provinces de common law est un atout. Capacit rsoudre les problmes dans lurgence, grer et utiliser toutes les ressources accessibles afin de prendre des dcisions claires et dobtenir des rsultats suprieurs en matire de sinistres. Capacit grer efficacement les problmes oprationnels complexes et prendre des niveaux de risque appropris. Orientation vers le service la clientle. Excellentes aptitudes communiquer lcrit et loral dans les deux langues officielles. Capacit travailler la fois de manire indpendante et en quipe. Capacit effectuer plusieurs tches la fois dans un environnement dynamique, travailler sous pression et traiter dimportants volumes de travail. Aptitude travailler au sein dun environnement sans papier et bas sur les technologies. Connaissance de la suite Microsoft Office et dautres logiciels lis au domaine de lassurance. FORMATION ET EXPRIENCE Certificat en expertise en rglement de sinistres de lAutorit des marchs financiers dans la catgorie assurance de dommages des entreprises (tre un membre en rgle est impratif). Diplme universitaire ou collgial, ou exprience quivalente. Minimum de cinq ans dexprience en rglement de sinistres dans le domaine de lassurance de dommages des entreprises et rsultats antrieurs prouvs. Titre de professionnel dassurance agr (PAA) ou en voie de lobtenir. Under technical direction, investigates and maintains Commercial General Liability, Property and Auto Liability claims. Works within specific limits of authority on assignments of significant technical complexity and coordination. UTILIZING CLAIMS POLICIES AND GUIDELINES Reviews coverages, determines liability and compensability, secures information, arranges property damage appraisals, and negotiates and settles claims. MANDATORY CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT Candidates must hold a valid Claims Adjustment Certificate issued by the Autorit des marchs financiers (AMF). Applications without this certification will not be considered. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Setting reserves and authorizing payments within scope of authority, effectively settling claims in the most cost-effective manner, and ensuring timely issuance of payments. Coordinating and adjusting investigations of Commercial General Liability and Property claims of a moderate to intermediate complexity through communication with policy holders and external vendors. Experience with auto liability would be an asset. Assigning independent adjusters, lawyers and directing litigation (strategy) in accordance with established guidelines. Analysis of coverage. Contributing to profitability by effective implementation of claim handling best practices to direct loss cost and claim expenses. Working closely with all levels of CNAs internal and external business partners to share knowledge and developments on claims. Ensuring proper reporting are completed in a timely manner and sent to the appropriate Head Office departments. Making recommendations on claim policy and processes to further enhance the claims department. Reacting to change productively and handling other essential tasks and projects as assigned SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES Technical and business management acumen, investigation and claims resolution skills, knowledge of insurance and claims principles, practices, and procedures. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and teams. Strong knowledge of industry trends, challenges, Quebec laws and regulations. Experience with claims in common-law provinces an asset. Ability to solve issues with a sense of urgency; utilize and manage all available resources to make informed decisions and achieve superior total claim outcome. Ability to effectively manage through challenging business problems and take appropriate levels of risk. Customer service focused. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both official languages preferred. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure and handle high volumes of work. Comfortable working in a paperless and technologically based environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Claims Adjustment Certificate from the Autorit des Marchers Financiers in commercial lines damage insurance sector class (You MUST be a member in good standing). University or College degree and/or equivalent business experience. Typically, a minimum of five (5) years claims adjustment experience in commercial property/casualty claims with a proven track record of results. CIP or working towards completion of same.
