OverviewJob Title: RQ09678 - DevOps / Cloud Engineer SeniorMinistry: Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and ProcurementLocation: Toronto, Ontario M3M 0B4Work Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)Duration: 101 Business Days (with extensions up to 500 Business days)Job DescriptionThe DevOps / Cloud Engineer Senior will play a key role in supporting the design, development, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise cloud and middleware infrastructure within the Labour and Transportation Cluster (LTC). The successful candidate will leverage advanced DevOps practices, automation frameworks, and cloud technologies to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability in hybrid and Azure environments.This role requires strong technical expertise in middleware technologies, DevOps pipelines, cloud infrastructure automation, and enterprise systems integration. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, support business-critical systems, and ensure compliance with ITIL and OPS operational standards.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Knowledge (30%)Administer, configure, and upgrade enterprise middleware platforms including WebLogic (v12), WebSphere (v9), and Informatica (v10).Manage and develop Oracle technologies such as Siebel, UCM, OID, BIP, OCH, OEDQ, and CRM.Design and implement DevOps automation using tools such as Docker, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and OpenShift.Apply GitOps principles including branching and merging strategies (e.g., git-flow), pull requests, and version control workflows.Design and deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Packer for immutable infrastructure builds.Perform application performance tuning, storage/capacity management, database migration/upgrades, and backup/disaster recovery (DR) planning.Configure and support clustering, load balancing, and firewall integration in Azure Cloud environments.Work with modern development technologies including J2EE, Java, Node.js, Azure Functions, Serverless, Pub/Sub event-driven systems, and Azure App Gateway.Support Informatica PowerCenter components such as Designer, Workflow Manager, and Workflow Monitor.Participate in Mid-Tier refresh initiatives leveraging containerization and automation technologies in Azure.Support & Troubleshooting (25%)Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for middleware, infrastructure, and cloud-related issues.Offer 24x7 production and pre-production support, ensuring availability, data integrity, and system resilience.Monitor and maintain systems performance and reliability according to ITIL standards.Develop recovery strategies and conduct data recovery operations in multi-platform environments.Operations (25%)Support enterprise business and infrastructure projects through DevOps best practices.Manage Incident Management and Change Management activities.Perform resource usage analysis, performance reporting, and audit log reviews.Contribute to emergency problem resolution and prepare ad-hoc operational reports.Assist in capacity planning, release management, and deployment coordination.Interpersonal & Communication Skills (15%)Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical documentation and reports.Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary technical teams.Provide leadership and mentorship to staff and stakeholders when required.Maintain strong client relationship management, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.Support management requests, providing client-facing assistance as needed on a 24x7 basis.Public Sector Experience (5%)Experience working within Ontario Public Service (OPS) or similar public sector environments.Familiarity with Transportation Safety architecture, applications, and database systems.Must-Have Skills10+ years of experience in systems, data communications, and telecommunication technologies (RedHat Enterprise Linux v7+, UNIX Solaris v10, Mainframe IMS Connect).Extensive experience in WebLogic v12, WebSphere v9, and Informatica v10 configuration, customization, upgrading, and patching.Strong background in administrating and developing Oracle Siebel, UCM, OID, BIP, OCH, OEDQ, and CRM technologies.Proven experience with DevOps tools and cloud automation in Azure Cloud using Docker, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and OpenShift.Hands-on experience with GitOps, infrastructure as code, and cloud-based performance optimization. #J-18808-Ljbffr
