This comprehensive care model encompasses post-acute rehabilitation programs, complex mental health support, dementia care, supported living at level 2, palliative, and long-term care services. The Long Term Care (LTC) program is the premier Continuing Care program in Southern Alberta. Second East LTC consists of 52 Long Term Care beds. In addition, for caring for our residents, we approach our work as a vocation a calling. In essence, we work where our residents live. HCAs are part of the greater LTC team that include LPNs, HCAs, Occupational Therapists, Recreation Therapists, Therapy Assistants, Registered Dietitians, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Unit Clerks and Family Physicians. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative approach to working with a healthcare team. Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism in all interactions. Preferred Qualifications Additional training or certification in Geriatric Care or Long-Term Care (e.g., Certified Palliative Health Care Aide). Certification or training in crisis management techniques, such as Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) or Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
