Your opportunity MedIT provides information technology support for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Our mission is to partner and collaborate with clients, University, and third parties to determine valuebased, sustainable technology solutions that enable the Faculty to achieve its academic mission. The System and Cloud Administrator is part of the Infrastructure team responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of MedITs cloud infrastructure. You will configure, implement, and maintain network systems, servers, hardware, and software that support business operations across multiple locations. Additionally, you will work closely with internal and external teams to deploy, maintain, and optimize cloudbased solutions while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards. Your responsibilities will include Configuring, administering, maintaining and troubleshooting highly complex systems (Windows, Linux, cloudbased systems), and resolving network performance issues Reviewing and implementing highly complex virtual computing and storage infrastructure Analyzing, recommending and designing internal network solutions to meet client needs Reviewing, assessing, and implementing cloud application architecture according to requirements Implementing and maintaining the cloud environment including recommending cloud adoption strategies and plans Contributing to network and infrastructure projects including consulting with clients on the development of project scope, resources and technical recommendations Executing security measures for network devices and introducing variations as required based on direction and guidance from information security Drafting and creating complex technical documentation and user support guides Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Minimum four (4) years of experience in a Cloud Administrator (or similar) role, preferably in a higher education setting Demonstrated experience administering and supporting Windows and Linux servers, including commandline interfaces and system administration. Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge of cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Demonstrated experience with networking equipment, VLANs, VPNs and VoIP in order to assist in configuration, maintenance and monitoring Understanding of fundamentals like IP addressing, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing. Familiarity with concepts and platforms like VMware and HyperV, as well as containers like Docker. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and security policies, is critical for safeguarding cloud resources. Experience managing cloud databases and data storage systems. Experience working with DevOps principles, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, is necessary for collaborating with development teams to deploy applications. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with scripting languages (i.e., Python, PowerShell) for task automation and infrastructure management Experience with troubleshooting systems and applications in a complex networked environment Experience creating complex and technical documentation and user support guides Experience preparing complex data models Experience implementing security measures for highly complex networks and systems Knowledge of tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure optimal cloud performance.
