Duties And Responsibilities The Curriculum Coordinator, English Language, Communication and Culture (Curriculum Coordinator) provides expertise in the development and delivery of engaging, current and relevant curriculum and courses for English language, communication and culture learning experiences. This includes the courses in the core English Language Certificate Program, various university degree access programs (Integrated Admission Pathway, International Guaranteed Admission Pathway, Graduate Preparation Program), short-term seasonal programming and customized programming. The Curriculum Coordinator ensures academic rigor, engaging and relevant learning materials, sound pedagogy, appropriate use of education technologies, appropriate delivery modalities and high quality in the design, development and delivery of courses that meet the needs of English language learners and international partners, responding to student and partner feedback as required. The Curriculum Coordinator pilots new courses and significant course revisions and then trains and supports English Language Teachers in the delivery of the courses. The Curriculum Coordinator collects and responds to course feedback from the English Language Teachers and course evaluations from students, to keep all courses current, relevant and of a high quality. The Curriculum Coordinator is a driver of innovation in the design and delivery of English language, communication and culture learning experiences for the Schools learners, partners and clients. Requirements The University recognizes that no individual will have the following skills and experience in equal measure, but the qualifications below will be used to assess candidates: A Masters degree in English language teaching, linguistics, applied linguistics, adult learning, or a related field TESL Ontario or TESL Canada accreditation, or similar, is required At least 2 years of experience teaching a wide range of English language, communication and culture programming, including English for academic purposes in a College or University setting. Experience teaching using different delivery modalities including in-person, online (synchronous and asynchronous), and hybrid Understanding of curriculum development, course design and assessment design across multiple delivery modalities Ability to development current, relevant and innovative curriculum and learning experiences for a wide range of ELCC learners Familiarity with educational technologies including learning management systems (D2L Brightspace preferred), video and audio assessments, student engagement tools, other assessment tools, etc. Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence as it can be applied to language, communication and culture learning. Ability to provide sound academic advice, counselling and mentoring to students. Strong written and oral communication skills. Interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines. Organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task Ability to work well under pressure during peak periods and in an environment where many things are happening at once, all requiring immediate attention. Fluency in additional languages is an asset.
