Overview POSITION : Technical HVAC Specialist LOCATION : Guelph, ON (in office position) MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies. Our client is a leading, specialized HVAC distributor serving contractors, engineers, and property managers across Ontario. With a growing team and a reputation for excellence, they are now looking to add a Technical HVAC Support Specialist to their team. As a Technical HVAC Support Specialist, youll be the go-to expert for contractors and internal sales staff. Youll assist with technical questions, create job-specific quotes, review plans, help size equipment, and ensure customers are confident in their designs and product selections. This role is a great fit for someone who is technically savvy, solution-oriented, and loves dealing with people and could be a perfect fit for field techs looking to get off the tools and into a technical desk-based role without losing industry credibility. Responsibilities Support contractors, reps, and internal sales teams with technical questions Review architectural or mechanical plans and generate accurate material takeoffs and quotes Provide product recommendations and troubleshooting guidance based on application, codes, and customer needs Create or assist with LoopCAD layouts and system designs Support inside sales team with pricing, part selection, and quoting Liaise with manufacturers for technical support or spec clarification as needed Represent the companys technical expertise in customer calls, trade shows, or training sessions Help maintain product knowledge documentation and training resources for internal staff and customers Qualifications 25+ years of experience in HVAC, hydronic heating, or building mechanical systems Education related to gas fitting and or HVAC will be an asset Working knowledge of LoopCAD (or similar design software) Comfortable reading mechanical drawings, specs, and layouts Excellent interpersonal skills ability to speak confidently with contractors, installers, and sales reps Strong computer skills MS Office, quoting tools, CRM systems Team-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please apply online.
