Job description Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Technician will be responsible for performing routine repairs on equipment and machinery on a daily basis. The Shop Technician must communicate well with the Shop Rentals & Service staff. The Technician will be required to deal with clients in person and drive out for equipment service calls. Qualifications Trade school training: 3 years and higher. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED Aerial and general tools background preferred Experience working with Genie, JLG, Bobcat, and Skyjack equipment, generators, small engines and Air compressors is an asset Related maintenance experience a plus Ability to read, analyze and interpret service data in English Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously Good communication and interpersonal skills Previous experience and/or knowledge of the methods and procedures used in the repair and maintenance of all types of vehicles and equipment Advanced Mechanical aptitude: Diagnostics in electrical and hydraulics is ideal. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Able to handle frequent lifting and exposure to loud noises, dust, gas and/or fumes Responsibilities Effective and appropriate communication with Service Manager and staff on a timely basis.
