My client, a leading global consulting firm, are looking to expand their function and require an Evidence Synthesis Manager to join the team. THE POSITION:The ideal candidate will have experience in evidence synthesis (i.e., structured/targeted literature reviews, systematic literature reviews, indirect treatment comparison feasibility assessments, and health technology assessment landscape/gap assessments). Other projects may include health economics and/or value communications projects as well as working alongside other team members and clients.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:You will be tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. In addition to the critical management and leadership tasks listed above, this role also includes the following unique responsibilities:Facilitate and participate in team-based and independent trainingProvide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior staffPromote a positive and energetic work environment through healthy and effective communication, a strong work ethic, and professional conductEXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:Travel: Some travel may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/managementHours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekOvertime and/or weekend/evening hours may be required to meet project deadlinesQualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.Education: Bachelors or higher-level university degree in a medical or life science-related field such as biology, biochemistry, physiology, epidemiology, pharmacology, or health economics AND/OR direct work experience in health research, health economics, or a related fieldExperience and/or Training:A minimum of 4 years direct work experience in evidence synthesis, health economics, health technology assessment, or a related fieldRequisite for at least 3 years experience with conducting structured/targeted and/or systematic literature reviewsKnowledge of industry standards and guidelines (eg, PRISMA, Cochrane)Knowledge of various health technology assessment agency standards and guidelines (eg, CDA, NICE)Detailed understanding of the steps in a structured/targeted and systematic literature reviewStrong attention to detailStrong basis in fundamental evidence synthesis concepts and methodsStrong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking capabilitiesAbility to communicate effectively (spoken and written), in non-technical terms, with project team members and clients.Work well in a team as well as independently and be able to take leadership role with regard to methodological elements in projects.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, demands, and timelines in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to manage personal and project team members time across competing projectsAbility to identify and respond to different communication and work styles of team members and contractorsDemonstrated leadership, team building and team-motivating skillsDemonstrated planning and decision-making skillsProven relationship building capabilities; developing and maintaining strong client relationships, effectively interacting with peersTechnology/EquipmentTechnically competent with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointTechnically competent with EndNoteTechnically competent with role-related software (eg, DistillerSR) or similar tool (eg, Nested Knowledge, Covidence)
