In this role, the successful Workshop Manager or similar will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of the welding/fabrication department. You will plan workloads, ensure effective communication and adherence to company and safety standards, and keep accurate technical documentation of jobs worked. You will also oversee equipment maintenance, ensuring all tools are in a safe working condition and serviced as required. On top of this, you will be a handson leader, performing welding/fabrication tasks as needed, and will implement plans and procedures to optimise and continually improve the welding/fabrication department. The ideal Workshop Manager or similar will have a background in the metal fabrication/welding industry, with practical experience in both MIG and TIG Welding. They will also have supervisory or management experience in a related role, an understanding of CAD software and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and strong organisational and communication skills.
