School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia) Counsellor Vacancy 2025-2026 Posting Date : September 18 2025 Competition # 25-T-70 0.6 FTE District Elementary Counsellor Continuing : Effective Immediately Qualifications BC Certification with Bachelor of Education Degree Masters Degree in Counselling Experience in Cognitive-Theory-Based Counselling with an understanding of Trauma Informed Practice Previous successful experience in Counselling required Must be familiar with Interministerial social agency protocols Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills Must be experienced at working in a collaborative team setting Training in Suicide Risk Assessment and care plans An understanding of counselling supports through a Response to Intervention lens Job Responsibilities include but not limited to Maintain therapy caseloads Consult with schoolbased teams parents district staff and community agencies Provide / facilitate professional development opportunities for School District No. 20 employees Active member of District Itinerant Team and District Counselling Team. Salary and Benefits The annual salary for this position ranges from $60337 to $111450 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
