To learn more about CAMH, please visit their website at: camh.ca The Professional Practice Office is currently seeking a full-time, temporary (Until March 2026) Nurse Educator to work primarily in the Forensics Division. Reporting to the Manager of Interprofessional Practice and Education and working collaboratively with the Clinical Program leadership team, you will contribute to quality client care for CAMH clients. The core functions focus on education of point-of-care staff and practice development. You will advance professional practice within clinical areas, including the Emergency Department, by helping develop high-performing interprofessional clinical teams. In collaboration with program leadership, unit managers and advanced practice clinical lead(s), you will assess and develop clinical and leadership skills of point-of-care staff. Key educational areas include scope of practice issues; interprofessional care planning; application of best practices at the point-of-care; and individual clinician and clinical team development. You will apply best practices in teaching/learning for clinical staff, education development and delivery, in the care of adults with acute and complex mental illnesses and concurrent medical and/or addiction disorders. You will support education initiatives such as patient safety initiatives, implementation of clinical policies & procedures, use of the I-CARE, and the orientation of new employees to the program. You will also participate in recruitment and performance management of staff, monitor clinical quality improvement measures, contribute to program planning, participate in program research/evaluation and other academic activities. Location and Schedule This position will be based at 1001 Queen Street West and includes days, evenings, and weekend hours. Qualifications The successful candidate must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and must possess a current BCLS (CPR) certificate. Five (5) years of experience within the mental health field is essential. Specific experience with clients with severe mental health and addiction issues and/or forensic histories is an asset. A BN/BScN degree and computer literacy are required. MN/MScN or other relevant Masters degree is preferred. Previous teaching experience is essential. CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing would be an asset. The incumbent should demonstrate ability to intervene effectively in challenging clinical situations requiring management of disturbed behaviour, as well as decision-making and problem-solving skills. Strong organization, communication skills, and ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment are essential. Ability to foster and create a learning environment, motivate and challenge others, and work with diverse populations is required.
