Job Description

The Information Security Specialist plays a key role in safeguarding critical infrastructure across Ontarios energy network. This position supports the organizations Cyber Threat Intelligence program, responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and communicating emerging security threats targeting the provincial energy system. Working within a high-trust, public-sector environment, this role ensures the integrity, reliability, and resilience of essential IT and operational systems that keep the grid secure.Responsibilities:Collect, assess, and interpret intelligence on cybersecurity threats impacting the energy sector.Analyze and communicate threat findings, trends, and recommended actions to leadership and external partners.Develop and maintain technologies, tools, and applications that support cyber threat intelligence and information sharing.Conduct investigations into suspected or confirmed security incidents, documenting findings and coordinating response efforts.Review systems, applications, and processes to ensure compliance with corporate security standards and frameworks.Collaborate across IT, security, and business units to strengthen policies, controls, and incident readiness.Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness and training programs across the organization.Stay informed on global threat developments, geopolitical risk factors, and advancements in cybersecurity technologies.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.510 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity operations, threat intelligence, or incident response.Proficiency with enterprise security systems across Windows and UNIX environments, as well as network infrastructure.Familiarity with threat modeling and analysis frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Diamond Model, and Cyber Kill Chain.Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.Certifications such as GCTI, CISSP, GCIA, or CEH are considered assets.Whats Offered:Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.Defined benefit pension and structured long-term career development.Hybrid work model promoting flexibility and collaboration.Opportunity to work within a critical public-sector organization committed to protecting Ontarios energy infrastructure.
