For more information: the Role: The Professional Learning & Educator Support Specialist - Contractor (PL Specialist) is a part-time role responsible for supporting the onboarding and training of educators, math consultants and school leaders within school districts on an occasional as-needed basis. The PL Specialist supports the acquisition, retention, renewal and growth of JUMP Math schools and educators assigned to them by providing excellent professional learning and coaching (in person and virtually) usually through the delivery of workshops, webinars, pilots with schools and other training initiatives. The PL Specialist also works collaboratively with the sales team providing advice on required customized professional learning plans for current and future customers. The PL Specialist may occasionally attend and deliver workshops and presentations at education conferences and other events to support current and future users of JUMP Math resources. This is a part-time contract.Location of Work: This role must be based in Western Canada and is intended to be remote but may require attendance at in person meetings, workshop presentations and training at schools or school districts, or occasional attendance at conferences JUMP Math is participating in.Pay range and compensation package: $60/hour to $125/hourResponsibilities:Delivers and facilitates webinars (live and recorded) and professional learning sessions (virtual and in person) with educators (teachers, administrators, school representatives and other stakeholders)Reports to and collaborates with the Director, Professional Learning, the PL team, Founder and school administrators to design, implement, and track progress for customized professional learning coaching plansLiaise with schools or boards to determine or confirm the professional learning or professional coaching plan including such details as the schedule, location, format, and content, number of participants, teacher observations, and participant feedbackAssists teachers and other educators to access the JUMP Math Teacher Resource Centre (via the JUMP Math website) for various teacher and student resourcesObserves JUMP Math teachers delivery of lessons to provide customized feedback and coaching to ensure teachers are using JUMP Math with fidelityGathers feedback from educators and other stakeholders to inform strategic decisions on program innovations, resources and professional learning/coaching effortsProvides brief reports of activities as required for internal or external stakeholders (donors, funders, etc.)Attend training and scheduled meetings as requiredCollaborate with other departments within Jump Math as a subject matter expert to support the development of new resources, programs, or initiatives.Qualifications:5 years of experience as a teacher; elementary or middle school math teaching experience preferred; (current or formerly professionally certified/licensed is preferred)Post-secondary degree or diploma in education (B.Ed.)Educational background and career in public or private teaching with knowledge and understanding of current school contextsExperience with teaching JUMP Maths core classroom resources is preferred but not a requirement (training will be provided)Experience delivering professional learning or coaching experiences: online and/or in person to educatorsA passion for education and the possibilities of math education to change livesRequired Skills:Strong communication both written and oralExcellent interpersonal skillsGood public speaking and presentation skillsProficiency with computers and technology; MS Office (Word, Outlook and PowerPoint), Video conferencing and meeting software (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.)Resourceful problem solver Preferred Skills:Ability to think creatively and follow through with ideasConfident and credibleOrganizedRespectfulPersonable and a strong relationship builderIndependent and self-motivatedCollaborative team playerEqual Opportunity Statement: JUMP Math is committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from racialized persons/persons of colour, women, Indigenous/Aboriginal people of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ persons, and others who may contribute to further diversification of ideas.
