We take pride in our culture of curiosity, collaboration, and doing work that matters.The OpportunityAs a Compliance Officer at Pine, youll be a critical part of our Compliance team - supporting regulatory adherence across mortgage operations, employee conduct, and product design. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, you'll help build and implement compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls that ensure Pines continued growth aligns with industry regulations and ethical best practices.This is a hands-on role where you'll make a meaningful impact in a startup environment while gaining breadth of experience across compliance domains - perfect for someone passionate about fintech, mortgage lending, and regulatory excellence.What Youll Do:Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance programs, policies, and procedures across Pines lines of business.Conduct internal reviews, risk assessments, and audits to evaluate adherence to regulations and internal standards.Monitor regulatory developments and assist in interpreting their applicability to Pines operations and products.Support the onboarding of new hires with compliance training and ongoing education for staff.Help maintain Pines licensing and registration requirements across jurisdictions.Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Legal, and HR to advise on compliance risks and mitigation steps.Support investigations into incidents or complaints, preparing clear documentation and reports as needed.Prepare and assist with regulatory filings, reports, and communication with regulators and auditors.Who You Are:2 - 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, legal, or audit within financial services (preferably lending, banking, fintech, or brokerage).Strong knowledge of mortgage regulatory frameworks in Canada (e.g., FSRA, CMHC, OSFI guidelines).Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex regulations into practical steps.Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and managing multiple priorities.Bonus: Experience with compliance tools (e.g., Vanta, iComply, or equivalent) or mortgage-specific platforms.Our Commitment to Diversity and InclusionWere committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company.
