Core Responsibilities Precision Cutting & Sizing: Expertly operate cutting equipment to accurately size and cut raw pipe materials according to engineering specifications. Surface Preparation Mastery: Perform crucial coating removal, grinding, and comprehensive surface preparation to ensure flawless welding and adherence. Quality Assurance & Inspection: Scrupulously inspect all prepared materials, verifying measurements and documentation to ensure strict quality and delivery standards are met before fabrication begins. Responsibilities Operate a pipe stripping lathe to efficiently remove old coatings and linings. Use a pipe cutting band saw or torch cutter for precise cutting and preparation of pipe material. Safely operate yard machinery and equipment to move and stage pipe (training provided). Assist with load securement of finished pipe bundles in line with company standards. Maintain exceptional yard cleanliness and strictly adhere to all safety compliance guidelines. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to consistently meet production and delivery schedules. Actively participate in mandatory training and safety programs. Perform other duties as assigned to support pipe processing and yard operations. Qualifications Valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Steeltoe boots required (all other necessary PPE provided). 2+ years of machine operator or heavy labor experience is highly preferred. Previous experience with a pipe stripping lathe is a strong advantage. Experience with pipe cutting band saw or torch cutting equipment is a plus. A strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools/equipment. The ability to lift heavy materials, bend, reach, and climb. Comfortable and willing to work outdoors in all seasons. A reliable, safetyfirst mindset with strong teamwork and communication skills.
