Job SummaryVTEK Consultants Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer to join our engineering team and support complex projects in the petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, producing, and updating electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This role involves collaboration across departments, support during manufacturing and testing phases, and contributions to the continuous improvement of design processes.Key Responsibilities Design and produce general layout drawings for electrical and instrumentation systems. Create assembly and manufacturing drawings for equipment and subcomponents. Update and maintain electrical diagrams based on engineering specifications. Complete nomenclatures, data sheets, and document lists for each project. Design electrical systems for industrial and simulation applications. Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness petrochemical plants. Create and revise technical drawings and associated documentation. Implement minor design changes to existing equipment components. Support manufacturing and testing teams during on-site trials and commissioning. Ensure compliance with CSA, NEC, API, ISA, and other applicable standards. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized designs. Review vendor documentation and incorporate equipment data into design packages. Contribute to team knowledge sharing. Use design software such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant, SPI (INtools), EPLAN, or equivalent.Qualifications Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Instrumentation. Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design, preferably in the petrochemical or industrial sector. Proficiency in AutoCAD and instrumentation design tools (e.g., SPI/INtools). PLC and automation panel experience specially in midstream Multiload design Wiring experience with PLC panels as well. Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems. Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and intrinsic safety requirements. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English, French is a strong asset. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
