The Drilling Services EHS&T Manager partners with field staff, field supervisors, and management in Canada and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) to provide a safe workplace.Position ResponsibilitiesEnsures that the quality of safety documents, such as risk assessments, pre-start checklists, inspections and permits, is of a high standard and reflects realitySupervises the creation and delivery of safety training programs educating employees on safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation, and emergency proceduresConducts regular interactions to ensure that procedures are followed and that knowledge is transferred to employees as requiredAssesses impact of training programs on organizational safety or accident rates, and suggests modifications to training curriculum as neededInvestigates incidents or accidents, gathers and analyzes statistics, and makes recommendations for improvementsLiaises frequently with the client and attends safety meetings as requiredPrepares and submits reports and investigations in accordance with applicable regulatory requirementsEnsures that sites meet leading and lagging KPI targets and develops plans if targets are not metEnsures that BLYs EHS fundamentals are being followedHire review, coach, and develop the EHS&T team. Monitoring work, adherence to policy and safety requirementsRoutinely conduct work-place audits and rig inspections to monitor work activities and ensure compliance with client, company, and government regulationsAssist with and/or lead Safety StanddownsPartner with field staff to maintain the necessary documentation to comply with client, company, and government regulationsAssist with developing written programs to meet client, company, and government regulationsConduct taxonomy and monitor occupational injuries and illnesses and advise on ways to protect workers and improve workplace safetyEnter incident data and other required information into the Global EHS Management System (GEMS)Monitor IVMS in the companys vehicles and ensure that safety protocols are followedResponsible for facility and shop safety inspectionsObtain needed certifications to perform necessary duties and train othersLead environmental initiatives and collect data to support the companys emissions management and ESG requirementsDevelop additional safety skills and credentials by attending selected courses and clinicsInteract with client safety representatives, as required, and promote Boart Longyears delivery of safe profitability and growthAssist in HR/EHS functions including scheduling, evaluation of candidates, hiring, and training.
