Algoma University , established in Sault Ste. Marie in 196, is an innovative institution with a dual Special Mission to serve as a teaching-oriented university while cultivating cross-cultural learning between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. The University currently provides students with rich learning and research opportunities in a range of liberal arts, sciences and professional disciplines. The University offers endless opportunities for students to learn inside and outside of the classroom. Experiential learning and student research opportunities are critical elements of Algomas approach, helping students apply what they learn in real world settings.As a tri-campus university with locations in Sault Ste. This individual will champion the universitys reputation and continued evolution, locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally, and ensure the university maintains its leadership and progress on the four strategic directions and priorities identified in the most recent strategic plan. The President will nurture a collegial atmosphere that promotes collaboration, transparency, and integrity. They will foster a culture that attracts and retains talented students and ensures services are provided for a first-rate student experience, while also attracting and retaining excellent faculty and staff, including a high-performing senior leadership team.The PSAG will begin reviewing applications in approximately February 2026, with an anticipated start of July 1st, 2026.
