External Job PostingEmployment Opportunity - Permanent Full-timeSocial Development ManagerThe Social Development Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive case management service to Family Preservation team (Urban & Community) and oversees the operational and service delivery of the Social Development program.Reporting directly to the Social Development Director, the Manager will lead a team of direct service and administrative staff. This individual will ensure that the programs fully meet the needs of the members, families and program funders, while maintaining Simpcw's values, policies, standards and fiscal integrity.The duties include:Supervise diverse positions dealing with complex issues, while employing flexible leadership and coaching strategies that supports creative and analytical thinkingOversees the human resource/staffing; regularly promoting recruitment, retention and development of staffProvides performance, leadership, coaching and mentoring to employees through best practiceManaging the finances and human resources of the Social Development department, including operating within the budget, staff development and learning, and performance managementLiaises with the community, government, families, officials, and professionals and promotes community involvement in the programManage and coordinate the two Urban regions that support the growing development of their servicesAdvise the Social Development Director on emerging issuesCommunity outreach, presentations and development of the Social Development programDirects, administers and controls the day-to-day operations and activities of facilities and programsResponsible for up-to-date statistical and regular reportingQualifications:A related degree and at least 3-5 years of experienceA degree in social work is preferred, must have management experienceSuccessful candidate must demonstrate experience in the following factors-Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate others to action and collaborate-Effectively advocate for change, influence others and resolve conflicts-Critical thinking and ability to coach direct reports in developing approaches to identify and resolveissues, analyze material, and respond to emerging challengesFormal Supervisory and project management experience is an assetSatisfactory criminal record check including the vulnerable sector checkValid Driver's license & AbstractKnowledge and Abilities:Experience in case management, crisis de-escalation and consultsKnowledge of the Secwepemc culture and traditions, and protocolsAn understanding about Indigenous and specifically Simpcw worldview, culture and valuesExcellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skillsMust demonstrate tact, patience, and respect for youth, staff, and community members.Maintain ethics and client confidentialityWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and ExcelTime managementMust have strong teamwork and cooperation, and service orientationAbility to work in multi-cultural settingsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionWage: NegotiableApplication deadline: Until filled.
