Rooted in compassion, respect, and social justice, Phoenix provides vitalhousing, education, and employment support to youth in Halifax and beyond.This is a four-year term position with the potential for extension, focused on leading the CapitalCampaign for Phoenixs Multi-Service Housing Centre (MSHC) Project, a transformativeinitiative that will strengthen Phoenixs impact in the community for generations to come.What Youll Be DoingReporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Capital Campaign will lead and manage allfundraising efforts in support of the MSHC Project. As a member of Phoenixs Executive Team,this role plays a pivotal part in shaping organizational strategy, policy, and financial planning.This position is dedicated exclusively to leading the capital campaign and operatesindependently from Phoenixs ongoing annual fundraising activities that support the agencysgeneral operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading and supporting the Campaign Collective, a group of senior volunteers assistingin fundraising efforts for the MSHC.Building and managing meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, communitypartners, and government officials.Developing, implementing, and executing a comprehensive Capital Campaign strategyaligned with Phoenixs mission and vision.Collaborating with senior leaders; including the Senior Director of Finance, Director ofOrganizational Development and Director of Development, to ensure the project stayson time, on budget, and mission-aligned.Participating as a member of the MSHC Program Leadership Team to support planning,design, and construction phases while managing quality, cost, and timelines.Engaging with and reporting to the Project Steering Committee, which includes membersof Phoenixs Board of Directors and the Phoenix Charitable Foundation.Providing leadership and support to build an internal culture of philanthropy acrossPhoenix programs and staff.Overseeing administrative and financial accountability for campaign activities, includingpreparing reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with CRA regulations.Supervising and developing team members, including an Administrative Assistant andfuture fundraising and communications staff.Representing Phoenix in the community, participating in events, and deepeningrelationships with partners and supporters.What Were Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a strategic, relationship-driven leader with a proven record in major giftfundraising, campaign management, and community engagement.Qualifications IncludeUndergraduate degree in philanthropy, social sciences, business, or related field (CFREdesignation considered an asset).Minimum of five years in fund development or revenue generation, including at leastthree years in a leadership capacity.Ability to commit MondayFriday, 9 a.m.5 p.m., with flexibility and evening workrequired to support campaign activities.Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising and relationship cultivation.Experience managing complex budgets, financial reports, and fundraising operations.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire collaborationand accountability.Knowledge of fundraising legislation, CRA compliance, and donor database systems(Raisers Edge considered an asset).Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Knowledge of issues related to homelessness, youth development, and social justice ishighly valued.Why Phoenix YouthPhoenix offers a supportive, mission-driven environment with a balanced and comprehensivetotal rewards package, including:Employer-paid Employee & Family Assistance ProgramProfessional and leadership development opportunitiesDEI learning & development programmingMonthly staff engagement eventsVacation: 3 weeks to start; 4 weeks after one year of servicePaid wellness (sick) time: 3 weeks annually13.5 paid holidays5% employer-paid RRSP (no employee match required)Comprehensive group benefits (50% cost-shared): life, dependent life, AD&D, short- and long-term disability, health, and dentalFlexible work arrangements / WFH where appropriateFree on-site parkingDiversity StatementAt Venor and Phoenix Youth, we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace.
