Organization: Alink Foundation www.alinkfoundation.ca / www.fondationalink.caPosition type: 3 or 4 days/week, flexible hours, remote work (could lead to 5 days/week)Start date: Early 2026 (winter)About Alink FoundationAlink Foundation is a Montreal non-profit supporting neurodivergent adults (including adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism) and their families. As our name suggests, we build alliances for inclusion. We offer weekly social-recreational and life-skills programs, are developing supervised housing opportunities, engage in advocacy and provide guidance to families. Founded in 2018 by volunteer families and professionals, Alink is hiring its first Executive Director to lead our next stage of growth.Position SummaryThis role is ideal for someone who is a self-starter and thrives on creating change.Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will provide strategic leadership, ensure strong operations and programs, steward finances and fundraising and represent Alink with partners, donors and the community. In this position, you will collaborate with a Alinks experienced program manager, and the organizations supportive, hands-on board members.Key Responsibilities1) Leadership, Strategy & GovernanceProvide visionary leadership that advances Alinks mission and values.Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term strategic plans with the Board.Ensure legal, regulatory and reporting compliance; maintain strong Board relations and timely reporting.2) Programs & PartnershipsOversee the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of social-recreation, life-skills and housing programs (in collaboration with the Program Manager).Ensure that programs reflect best practices and respond to the needs and goals of participants and families.Build and manage partnerships with community groups, educational institutions, healthcare providers and other stakeholders.3) Fundraising & Resource DevelopmentTogether with the Board and Fundraising Consultant, design and execute a diversified fundraising plan (grants, donations, events, corporate partnerships).Identify, write, and report on grants; cultivate and steward donors and funders.4) Finance & AdministrationPrepare and manage the annual budget; monitor cash flow and financial health.Oversee financial operations, reporting and compliance with CRA and nonprofit standards.Ensure effective stewardship of resources: careful budgeting and expenditures, accurate records and protection of organizational assets.5) Operations & TeamRecruit, supervise, and support staff and volunteers; foster an inclusive, mission-driven culture. The current team is composed of part-time employees, including a Program Manager, Program Consultant, Fundraising Consultant and Educators.Establish and refine policies, procedures, and systems for efficient operations, facilities and program delivery.6) Community Engagement, Advocacy & CommunicationsServe as the primary ambassador for Alink; build relationships with families, donors, government and community leaders.Oversee and produce communications (website, newsletters, social media, email) and timely respond to public inquiries.Advocate for policies and resources that support neurodivergent adults and their familiesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelors degree (graduate degree an asset).5+ years of leadership experience in the non-profit or related sector, or equivalent in the community or business sectors.Demonstrated success in organizational management, program development and fundraising and/or marketing.Skills & AttributesDeep commitment to inclusion, dignity, and opportunity for neurodivergent adults. Familiarity with the neurodiverse community is an asset.Strong leadership, relationship-building and communication skills (oral/written).Bilingual (French/English) required.Financial acumen (budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation).Experience managing diverse teams and partnerships.Competence / familiarity with grant writing, donor relations and fundraising.Strong computer literacy with experience using productivity software such as Microsoft Office and Google Apps (Docs, Drive, etc)Compensation & TermsSchedule: 3 or 4 days/week with flexible hours, mostly remote work (however candidates must be based in Montreal).
