For more information, please visit www.jamiesonwellness.com Overall ResponsibilitiesTo provide leadership and direction through proper training and communication to operations personnel to meet schedules. To supervise the manufacturing and packaging of product, and warehousing in a safe and cost effective manner in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.Specific Key Responsibilities & DutiesAssign operators to specific duties on a day-to-day basisResponsible for supervising all three key departments, manufacturing, packaging and warehouse.Assist in planning of daily and weekly production schedules and staffing requirementsTrouble shoot any production problems to minimize impactMaintain safe and efficient operationsProvide initial, and ongoing training to operators in areas of safety, equipment and handling, Standard Operating Procedures, GMP requirements and company policies and practicesInspect all machinery for cleanliness, safety requirements and proper set up prior to productionMonitor and maintain housekeeping and sanitation programs/standardsInvestigate opportunities for improvement to increase efficienciesCollaborate with peers, subordinates and other departments to achieve common goalsComplete and offer suggestions for improvement of all manufacturing and packaging documentationCheck and approve labour reports and overtime as submitted by employeesMonitor equipment and premises, issuing work orders for maintenance required and continued follow-ups to ensure that repairs are completed on a timely basisParticipates in employee evaluations and corrective actionsMaintain necessary inventory of tablet tooling, spare parts and materialsEnsure all ingredients are present as stated in the manufacturing formula and packaging form prior to productionEscalate any problems during a production run with recommendations for their solutionEnsure materials are available to operating departments as required.Maintain and create accurate Standard Operating Procedures and One Point LessonsControl material inventories ensuring accuracy and prompt disposition of rejected supplies.Control and maintain appropriate shipping documentation.Provide support for the inventory cycle count programTo work in concert with Inventory Control to support GMP and accuracy goals.Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices and compliance standards are consistently met.Review of Material Requirements Planning to determine component and raw material levels Use MRP data to coordinate movement of components and raw materialsPrepare shipping documents for subcontractor work ordersDaily review of hourly payroll, attendance policies and time off requests.Escalate deviations from Standard Operating Procedures and manufacturing/packaging instructionsWorking in compliance with the companys Health & Safety Policies/SOPs including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities ProcedureWill comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas of Jamieson Laboratories Ltd. FacilitiesMaintain safe and efficient packaging and warehouse operationsComplete walk through on the floor to ensure safety and proficiency a minimum of 50% of shiftSpecial projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities RequirementsThree (3) years supervisory experience in the pharmaceutical industry specifically in the manufacturing and/or equivalent University or College degree in a science related fieldManaging/supervising unionized employee an assetProven human relation and communication skillsComputer literateWorking knowledge of regulations (GMPs and WHMIS)Problem solving skills and abilitiesMust be self-motivated and be able to work in a TEAM environmentValidation experience would be an assetAbility to work and direct others in an organized and safe environment Ability to walk long distances for prolonged periods of timeStrength in inter-personal, teamwork and communication skills Innovative, adaptable, and motivated towards continuous improvement.Excellent reactive problem-solving skills. Valid drivers license Forklift license not required but is an asset.Ability to work all shifts as required including weekend work.
