Miramichi Division manufactures oriented strand board (OSB) for clients located throughout North America. Arbec Forest Products Inc. is looking for a Production Supervisor at its Miramichi plant. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the incumbent will primarily be responsible to oversee all activities including health & safety, environment, quality and production while maintaining good relations. This position will ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, ethical standards and applicable regulations and legislation. Oversee employee compliance with company policies and standards for safety, environment, quality, ethics, cost control, housekeeping, waste reduction and on-time delivery Manage workforce as per the Collective Agreement including Time Sheets, vacation, floaters, overtime, attendance, etc. Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback and coaching on an ongoing basis Participate in site and workplace inspections Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development Oversee departmental outputs, ensuring they meet safety, environment, production schedules and quality standards, as well as customer needs Degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing field related to the industry Five years of experience in a management role within a manufacturing setting Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, collective agreements and policies Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations Work in an industrial setting Interaction with employees and management Operation of desktop computer and peripherals Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Arbec Forest Products Inc. offers an advantageous salary and range of benefits comparable to other companies in the same field.
