BC Forward is Hiring for Production Technician - Seed Sampling - Warehouse/Forklift at Lethbridge, ABPosition: Production Technician (Seed Sampling - Warehouse/Forklift)Location: 90048 Range Road 211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 5N9Duration: 05 Months (Possible Extension)Work Type: OnsiteShift: Night shift - 11:00pm to 7:30am (optional OT + a couple Saturdays)Description:Preferred start 11/3 Will need to be able to work in a warm and cold environment and move product up to 50lbs throughout the day. Provides production support. May perform minor preventative maintenance and repairs.Notes: One person working in Receiving, one in Conditioning and one in Treat Pack (this one will require forklift experience) Any specific skills or requirements you want in a candidate: Forklift Experience or willing to learn; HS Diploma (required to be considered for a perm role) Any additional Medical Surveillance testing required? - Yes, CCOHS Respiratory Testing to wear an N95 respirator. (Medical Eval and Fit Test) SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS 1st Shift - $23.00 2nd shift - $26.00; +$3.00 premium (paid between hours worked between 4pm and 10pm) 3rd shift - $25.00; +$2.00 premium (paid between hours worked between 10pm and 6am) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: Perform tasks associated conditioning, some general repair and maintenance, as directed by supervisor. Activities from receiving to storage Conditioning activities such as cleaning and sizing, treating and packaging, palletizing, wrapping and sampling Shipping/receiving, interplant movement, rework, warehousing, and inventory management of bagged and bulk seed, including the safe operation of forklifts Compliance with Work Instructions and Quality Plan requirements Complete and maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports such as quality, safety, grower, and inventory records. PREFFERED EXPERIENCE Two-year agricultural diploma or related field of study Experience in light industrial, manufacturing, seed cleaning and handling, or warehouse High School Diploma is REQUIRED Other Requirements: Knowledge of production agriculture Valid Drivers License Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions and anticipate needs Excellent verbal and written communication skills, reliability, work accuracy, and timeliness Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision Competent computer skills Willingness to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, dry, and dusty conditions Ability to climb and/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods Position may involve repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS Pass a background check and other pre-employment screenings Have reliable transportation to the site and be able to arrive at the work site as instructed. Maintain enthusiasm, good attitude, honesty and a willingness to treat all with respect PPE: Corteva will provide all PPE except steel toed boots. Standard PPE for agency workers is: Leather gloves CSA approved safety glasses Hearing protection Hi-viz safety vest Long sleeves (for any handling of our treated seed, packaged or unpackaged) CSA approved steel-toe boots (covers the ankle and has the green CSA triangle). Possibly available at south side Marks and/or Peavey Mart. Hard hat - hard hat to be hi-viz and have a Class E rating. Corteva will supply an orange hard hat to the agency worker, along with any other specialty PPE they require for a task.
