Must Haves:5+ year(s) work/applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g. automotive, electrical, controls, data center).Experience with mechanical or electrical systems in a high availability assembly / manufacturing / critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fieldsTechnical procedure writing and execution experience for SOP/MOP/EOPsExperience with building management systems (EPMS)Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code (unless they're a mechanical tech)Experience as an equipment technician performing inspections and break fix for equipment (e.g. generators, UPS, AHU, chillers, pumps...etc.)High school diploma, GED, or equivalentPluses:Previous datacenter experienceJob Description:A Fortune 100 client of Insight Global is looking for several Critical Environment Techs to join their Critical Environment Team. This team is responsible for power, breaker, switch gear, fire protection, water, fan speed, building temperature automation systems, etc. in a datacenter. The right person for this job will have electrical and/or mechanical experience, know how to troubleshoot breakers, experience interfacing with fire systems, know what refrigeration cycles are and how they work on the mechanical side/how it relates to the data center, and experience with HVAC troubleshooting. They must also be able and willing to work Night Shift Dec/Jan 2026 (12 hr shifts Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & alternating Wednesdays which averages out to 42 hrs/week) in Toronto or Quebec City. They'll do rounds in the facility, they'll monitor alarms in their safety operations center(SOC). Checking the facility, doing preventative weekly/monthly/quarterly maintenances - working on HVAC, generators, fire suppressants. Writing processes and procedures, MOPs, SOPs. 3-4 teammates working alongside them right now.
