POSITION SUMMARY The Truss Designer is involved in assisting the Design Department with preparing correspondence, reports, statements and other material. The Truss Designer may also be involved in other duties as required by the department or the company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design, Estimate and perform layout and consultations of floors or roofs for residential and commercial construction. Prepare drawings for manufacturing and erecting wood building components. Provides technical support to customers, production and sales staff. Consults with engineers, building officials and contractors on projects specs. Other job related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Diploma from a recognized architectural, civil or construction engineering program is an asset. REQUIREMENTS: 5-10 years experience with Mitek software in truss and floor design. Strong understanding of both residential and commercial building design. Strong attention to detail. Diploma from a recognized architectural, civil or construction engineering program. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Motivated, enthusiastic, with a willingness to learn. Demonstrated skills working in a team environment. Positive energy and problem solving approach in all situations. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
