Overview Freshslice Pizza, headquartered in Burnaby, BC, is seeking an experienced In-House Litigation Lawyer to work on a range of litigation matters with a focus on Franchise Law. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of litigation and Supreme Court trial experience. Responsibilities Work on a broad range of litigation matters with a focus on franchise law, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and other related documents. Conduct legal research and analysis on franchise-related matters. Provide strategic legal advice to the company on all aspects of Canadian Franchise Disclosure Documents and Franchise Agreements, as well as provincial Supreme Court civil procedural rules and practices. Act as a key legal resource to the company's various business departments, providing advice on legal risks and ensuring that business objectives are achieved within legal and regulatory frameworks. Effectively manage a caseload of complex litigation matters from inception to resolution, handling pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and manage risks effectively. Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure that company practices are aligned with legal requirements. Requirements A minimum of 1 year of Litigation and Supreme Court Trial experience. Strong understanding of Canadian Franchise Disclosure Documents, Franchise Agreements, and provincial Supreme Court civil procedural rules and practices. Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and well-reasoned legal opinions and memoranda. Strong business acumen and legal judgment, with the ability to identify and manage legal risks effectively. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and deal effectively with senior management, peers, and support staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to legal problem-solving. Strong sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Willingness to learn and understand the company's various business departments and drive results. Benefits We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a base salary of up to CA$250,000, with the potential for an additional bonus of up to CA$200,000.
