Job Description

Kilne is a chef-tested cookware company founded in Toronto, empowering home cooks with professional-grade products designed for everyday magic in the kitchen. As a small, collaborative team, were seeking a confident Operations Manager to optimize our day-to-day operations in a fast-paced e-commerce startup. Youll manage logistics, supply chain, and cross-functional projects, making data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency and scalability (especially during Q4 peaks like Black Friday and Cyber Monday). Location: In office (Downtown Toronto) Compensation: 80-100k, benefits, PTO, and a complimentary Kilne knife set. We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and provide accommodations as needed. Core ResponsibilitiesThese form the foundation of the role, focusing on essential ops for our DTC model.Inventory and Procurement: Oversee inventory levels, create and update SKUs/UPCs/HS codes, and manage PO pipeline. Leverage data for business forecasts to prevent stockouts, especially in Q4.Communication and Liaison: Act as a kind, clear communicator between warehouse, manufacturers, team, and external consultants. Facilitate EOS-style meetings for alignment.Vendor and Warehouse Relations: Own warehouse partnerships (e.g. with account managers/staff) and manufacturer/supplier relationships. Source, refine, order products; resolve issues like warranties/quality.Budget and Quality Control: Create and manage operations budget, identifying cost savings; establish QC standards at manufacturers and warehouses.Supply Chain and Logistics Management: Lead all operations and logistics activities, including ASNs, customs brokerage, and compliance with rules/regulations. Manage couriers for optimal rates and practices; provide clear timelines for shipping, deliveries, and launches.Process Optimization and Data Analysis: Oversee processes for scalability; collect and analyze data to drive decisions and continuous improvements.Optional ResponsibilitiesCustomize based on business needs (e.g. add for growth phases):Product Development and Launches: Work with Creative and Marketing on projects, production schedules, and launches to align with business needs.Team and Risk Management: Supervise any ops support staff; develop contingency plans for disruptions (e.g., supply shortages).Technology Integration: Implement and enhance Shopify and inventory management systems; automate workflows (e.g. via Zapier) for efficiency.Customer Experience Focus: Analyze post-launch data to improve satisfaction; manage returns/feedback loops.Strategic Advisory (EOS Integrator Path): Make recommendations to founders on cost reductions/growth. Track KPIs via scorecards to support scalability.Qualifications and SkillsEducation and Experience: 3-5+ years in operations (ecommerce/startup experience preferred).Key Competencies: Skilled at prioritizing deadlines and adapting to shifts. Thrives in entrepreneurial, collaborative settings.
