*Job percentage:* *85.7143% (temporary)* *Work schedule: 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.* **Nature of the work** The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in developing a program of activities for the day care service and ensuring supervision so as to foster, in keeping with the educational project of the school, the overall development of students while taking into account the interests and needs of the students and the rules. The employee sees to the general well-being of students and ensures their health and safety. The employee also performs technical work related to the operation of the day care service, particularly with regard to the management of financial, human and material resources. **Characteristic Functions** - The employee works with the school administration on planning and developing the program of activities and evaluating the projects of the service in keeping with the educational project of the school and ensures that it is implemented. He or she sees to the organization of special activities, especially pedagogical days. He or she may, in addition, carry out some or all of the duties of a day care service educator. - Under the responsibility of the administration, the employee draws up the operating rules of the day care service and the procedures for registration, attendance, welcoming of students and accompanying them until they leave with their parents. - Prepare and conduct information meetings intended for parents concerning the organization and operation of the day care service. they inform parents and students of the rules established. - Monitor and carry out the admission and registration of students. - Verify the students attendance reports; enter pertinent data using the appropriate software and produce various reports and statistics; enter information provided by the educator concerning students behaviour. - Ensure that the laws, regulations and various measures applicable to a day care service, particularly in matters pertaining to hygiene, safety, prevention, cleanliness of materials and rooms and the storage and distribution of medication. - Ensure communication between the day care service and the school administration, parents, school board staff and outside organizations. Within their competence, the employee follows up on complaints or forwards them to the department concerned. - Assist the schools` administration in determining budgetary estimates: prepare and analyze the data required for estimating revenue from enrolment, grants, allowances and other operating expenses. - According to the procedure established, they carry out billing, collection and recovery of amounts due. They are responsible for cash receipts, various payments, keeps a petty cash and makes deposits. They prepare various reports, official statements, financial statements and accounts reconciliation. - Monitor the day care services budget and oversees expenses; fill out various forms and applications for allowances and grants and forward the information on budget balance. - Under the authority of the school administration, the employee participates in determining staffing needs based on the student enrolment forecasts, drawing up work schedules and preparing the staffs vacation schedule. - Under the responsibility of the school administration, the employee works with others in developing and maintaining harmonious relations among the day care service staff members. They prepare and conduct coordination meetings of their service; distributes certain tasks; with their team members, evaluate the services rendered. - Keep a staff attendance record and verify the record of hours worked. Carry out the measures required to replace absent employees while complying with the rules in effect. - Participate in the physical and material organization of the day care service. Keep an inventory of materials and equipment. Based on the policy established, they order or purchase material, equipment or services; discuss prices with caterers and submit them to parents. - Use a computer and various software required to perform their work. Elle veille au bien-tre gnral des lves, tout en assurant leur sant et leur scurit. Elle effectue galement des travaux techniques relis au fonctionnement du service de garde, notamment concernant la gestion des ressources financires, humaines et matrielles. **Attributions caractristiques** - Participer, avec la direction de lcole, la planification, llaboration du programme dactivits et lvaluation des ralisations du service en tenant compte du projet ducatif de lcole, tout en assurant son application. Voir lorganisation dactivits spciales, notamment lors de journes pdagogiques. Exercer une partie ou lensemble des attributions de lducatrice ou de lducateur en service de garde. - Sous la responsabilit de la direction, laborer les rgles de fonctionnement du service de garde et les rgles de procdure pour linscription, la prise de prsence, laccueil des lves et laccompagnement jusquau dpart avec le parent. Prparer et animer les rencontres dinformation lintention des parents concernant lorganisation et le fonctionnement du service de garde. Informer les parents et les lves concernant les rgles tablies. - Contrler et procder ladmission et linscription des lves. Vrifier les rapports dassiduit des lves, saisir les donnes pertinentes dans le logiciel appropri et produire divers rapports et statistiques ; consigner les informations fournies par lducatrice ou lducateur concernant le comportement des lves. - Sassurer du respect des lois, des rglements et des diverses mesures sappliquant un service de garde, notamment en matire dhygine, de scurit, de prvention, de propret du matriel et des locaux, ainsi que de la conservation et de la distribution des mdicaments. - Assurer les communications du service de garde avec la direction de lcole, les parents, le personnel de la commission scolaire et les organismes externes. Dans la mesure des comptences, donner suite aux plaintes ou les transmettre la direction concerne. - Assister la direction de lcole dans ltablissement des prvisions budgtaires : prparer et analyser les donnes ncessaires lestimation des revenus provenant des inscriptions, des subventions, des allocations et des diverses dpenses de fonctionnement. - Selon la procdure tablie, effectuer la facturation, la perception et le recouvrement des sommes dues. Procder aux encaissements, aux divers paiements, tenir une petite caisse et effectuer les dpts. Prparer divers rapports, relevs officiels, tats financiers et concilier les comptes. - Effectuer le suivi du budget du service et contrler les dpenses ; remplir divers formulaires et demandes dallocations et de subventions et transmettre des informations sur les soldes budgtaires. - Sous lautorit de la direction de lcole, participer ltablissement des besoins de personnel sur la base des prvisions dinscription dlves, la dtermination des horaires de travail et la prparation dun calendrier des vacances du personnel. - Collaborer au dveloppement et au maintien de relations harmonieuses au sein du personnel du service de garde. Prparer et animer les runions de coordination du service ; rpartir certaines tches ; faire, avec les membres de lquipe, lapprciation du service rendu. - Tenir le registre dassiduit du personnel et vrifier le relev des heures travailles. Effectuer les dmarches ncessaires pour le remplacement du personnel absent en tenant compte des rgles en vigueur. - Participer lorganisation physique et matrielle du service de garde. Tenir linventaire du matriel et de lquipement. Conformment la politique tablie, commander ou procder lachat de matriel, dquipement ou de services ; discuter des prix avec les traiteurs et les soumettre aux parents. - Utiliser un ordinateur et les divers logiciels ncessaires lexcution des travaux.
