If you can name a profession or an industry, odds are, there is an association for it.Whether we are helping an organization improve membership engagement and governance, or providing networking opportunities and practical tools, organizations turn to CSAE when they are looking for ways to improve their practices.That is where you come in.As CSAEs Director, Membership & Operations, you are a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for driving member growth and retention while ensuring effective operational support for the associations mission and goals. Reporting to the President & CEO, this role is both strategic and operational - a player-coach who leads by example, builds strong relationships, and contributes directly to key initiatives.The Director plays a central role in shaping the associations membership value proposition, business development strategy, and organizational performance, working collaboratively with the leadership to align priorities, resources, and outcomes.This is where youll have plenty of autonomy, and the ability to make a big impact on the future of our organization.Here are some of the things you will be working on:Strategic Leadership & VisionDevelop and execute a multi-year membership and business development strategy aligned with the associations strategic plan.Identify opportunities for growth and diversification of membership, partnerships, and revenue streams.Serve as a key thought partner to the Leadership Team, contributing to organization-wide planning, innovation, and performance measurement.Champion a data-informed culture to guide strategic decision-making and evaluate program impact.Membership Growth & Relationship ManagementLead the associations membership strategy, focusing on recruitment, engagement, and retention across all segments.Build and maintain relationships with members, industry stakeholders, and partners to deepen engagement and expand influence.Represent the association externally at meetings, events, and industry forums to promote visibility and growth opportunities.Oversee the membership team in delivering exceptional member service and value.Business Development & PartnershipsIdentify, pursue, and manage opportunities for new partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations that enhance value for members and support financial sustainability.Work closely with the Director, Events & Engagement on integrated business development initiatives that connect membership, education, and events.Ensure membership and partnership strategies are aligned with the associations brand and strategic objectives.Operational OversightOversee core operational functions including finance, HR, and IT to ensure efficiency, compliance, and accountability.Support the implementation and improvement of operational systems, policies, and procedures.Working with CSAEThis is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the President & CEO. CSAE operates as a fully virtual organization with access to co-working locations in the GTHA. Regular team meetings are held in Toronto.
