Were seeking an experienced EPPM Functional Consultant to support our client, a major provincial energy utility, in enhancing, supporting, and optimizing their Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) environment. This role collaborates with project managers, business analysts, technical teams, and enterprise stakeholders to improve project governance, scheduling practices, portfolio reporting, and enterprise project delivery maturity.The consultant will provide deep functional expertise in Primavera P6 or equivalent EPPM platforms, helping to define requirements, configure solutions, improve reporting capabilities, and support integrations with enterprise systems.LOCATION & WORK HOURSLocation: Flexible remote (within Canada) with periodic onsite visits to Regina as requiredOnsite Expectations: Occasional onsite visits may be required for workshops, planning sessions, or critical deliverables (a few times during the engagement).Start Date: January 5, 2026End Date: December 31, 2026Contract Length: 12 monthsSchedule: MondayFriday, standard business hoursAvailability: Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for production releases or project deadlinesSecurity Clearance: Must pass criminal background and education verification checksTHE ROLE EPPM Functional ConsultantAs the EPPM Functional Consultant, you will analyze business needs, design functional solutions, configure EPPM capabilities, and support project governance processes. You will work closely with PMO leaders, delivery teams, schedulers, and IT groups to optimize scheduling, resource allocation, reporting, workflow efficiencies, and portfolio transparency.The role includes functional design, configuration, testing, documentation, reporting improvements, and supporting enhancements, upgrades, and integrations with ERP, asset management, and financial systems.MANDATORY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEPost-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field710+ years of functional experience with Oracle Primavera P6 / EPPM or similar platformsStrong knowledge of enterprise project and portfolio management processes including:Project scheduling & resource planningWork breakdown structures (WBS)Cost and performance trackingProject governance & controlsRisk and issue managementPortfolio analytics & reportingProven experience gathering requirements, writing functional specifications, and defining EPPM configurationPrior experience supporting PMO or capital project environmentsExperience working in structured SDLC, release management, and change control processesStrong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skillsDESIRED CERTIFICATIONSPMP, CAPM, or PMI specialty certificationOracle Certified Primavera P6 / EPPM Functional LeadITIL v4 Foundation (asset)Agile or SAFe certification (asset)PREFERRED EXPERIENCEExperience supporting EPPM platforms in utility, energy, or public-sector environmentsExperience configuring dashboards, BI reports, KPIs, and portfolio metricsKnowledge of integrations with ERP, financial planning, asset management, or scheduling systemsExperience supporting EPPM upgrades, cloud migration, or modernization initiativesAbility to analyze business processes, identify gaps, and recommend process improvementsExperience facilitating workshops with PMs, governance leads, and technical teamsKEY DELIVERABLESConfigure and support EPPM functional components, workflows, structures, and portfolio viewsAnalyze business requirements and produce functional design documentationSupport enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and process improvementsImprove scheduling practices, governance workflows, and portfolio reportingDevelop system documentation, training materials, and operational guidesSupport testing cycles (SIT, UAT) and validate system behavioursInvestigate and resolve functional issues; coordinate technical fixes as neededProvide advisory guidance based on industry best practices and PMO methodologyABOUT THE ROLEThis 12-month engagement provides an opportunity to strengthen enterprise project portfolio management capabilities within a major provincial energy provider.
