POSITION DESCRIPTION GLOBAL NETWORK ARCHITECTURE & OPERATIONS LEADPOSITION OVERVIEWReports to: Manager, Global Enterprise InfrastructureLocation: Vancouver (Hybrid)POSITION SUMMARYThe GLOBAL NETWORK ARCHITECTURE & OPERATIONS LEAD is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and operational excellence of Eldorado Golds global network infrastructure. This role ensures secure, scalable, and high-performance connectivity across all corporate, regional, and site-level environments. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining network architectures, ensuring their scalability, availability, and security, and providing technical leadership for all network-related projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe GLOBAL NETWORK ARCHITECTURE & OPERATIONS LEAD will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Develop strategy, technical direction, and engineering solutions for enterprise-wide data networking and data security services supporting key business requirements.Lead the development and execution of Architecture and Operational roadmaps for data networking and data security services globally and drive efforts to validate that strategic direction is aligned with business architecture/direction.Provide technical leadership for the establishment, and implementation of end-to-end network data, and security infrastructure solutions utilizing new technologies, including Azure Cloud.Provides technical solutions for the establishment and implementation of high availability network solutions, to support convergence of voice, data, and multimedia services, as well as cloud application security architectures.Provides clear and concise recommendations to remediate performance/scaling bottlenecks.Provides escalation support for troubleshooting and resolution of all network data and security issues as required by other infrastructure support teams.Maintain expertise in data network security technologies to ensure that cost-effective solutions and processes are deployed and aligned with business direction.Mentor other members of the Network Services team on architectural and engineering best practices by reviewing engineering designs and providing guidance as required.Partner with business unit and development team SMEs to develop best -practices that can be proactively incorporated into architectural and engineering designs.Evaluate, recommend and deploy toolsets to manage, measure, monitor, and report network and systems characteristics.Develop and maintain partnerships with key vendors and ensure that all technology and services roadmaps are understood and leveraged where applicable.Partner with Business IT, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Leads, and third-party service providers in the conception, evaluation, piloting, engineering, and operational delivery of solutions for the organization.Effectively communicate the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to internal business and project stakeholders.Install & Qualify components into production following company policies and procedures.Build relationships which foster collaboration and partnerships to drive better strategies, processes, and final product to the customer.Participate in IT Risk Management initiatives in line with industry and corporate Audit and Compliance strategies.Assist with development and management of the Network Services budgets.VALUESCollaboration We succeed togetherIntegrity We are honest and do the right thingAgility We continuously assess, adapt and navigate to find solutionsCourage We embrace the unknown and face challenges head-onDrive We persevere through adversity, remaining committed to delivering on our promisesQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.8+ years of experience analyzing, configuring, troubleshooting, and designing complex enterprise networks across global environments.Extensive experience with complex routing, switching, and ISP environments.Strong proficiency with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.Deep understanding of WAN architectures, including legacy MPLS and emerging SD-WAN, VPN, ZTNA and SASE technologies.Thorough knowledge of enterprise IPv4 protocols and emerging IPv6 deployments.Expertise in QoS configuration and management on routers and switches.Hands-on experience with firewalls and security appliances, preferably Palo Alto (including Panorama), Cisco ASA, and Meraki.Skilled in managing user remote access VPN headends, such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto GlobalProtect, and Meraki VPN solutions.Strong familiarity with cloud networking, specifically Azure services including Virtual Networks (Vnets), Landing Zones, Vnet Peering, Network Security Groups (NSG), ZTNA and Azure DNS.Experience with network configuration, automation tools, telemetry, and authentication technologies.Proficient with network troubleshooting tools such as SNMP monitoring, packet analysis software (Wireshark), and network tracing platforms like ExtraHop.Working knowledge of various network operating systems, including PAN-OS, Cisco IOS, Arista EOS, and Meraki.Familiarity with Network Access Control (NAC) technologies such as Aruba and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).Strong understanding of security tools including CrowdStrike and Darktrace.Effective multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a global environment, supporting systems across multiple time zones. Strong communication and collaboration abilities to coordinate projects and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.The salary range for this position is $108,000 to $148,500. The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience, skills, and competencies, taking into consideration internal equity. Qualified candidates with the required qualifications and relevant experience can expect an offer between the minimum and around the midpoint of the range. Progression toward the higher end of the range is based on higher qualifications and experience or demonstrated performance in the role.
