## **Required Position** Full-Time Appointment ## **Responsibilities** Reporting to the Director of Human Rights, the Manager, Human Rights and Accessibility is responsible for managing the Universitys human rights, accessibility, and community engagement functions. The Manager leads initiatives to promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility across the institution and ensure compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Ontario Human Rights Code, and related legislation. The role provides guidance to departments on systemic accessibility improvements and equity programming. **Operational Leadership and Legislative Compliance** Oversee and monitor institutional compliance with AODA, Ontario Human Rights Code, and other applicable standards. Lead the development and implementation of the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan. Coordinate and review accessibility audits and barrier-removal projects. Provide support to the AODA and Equity and Community Engagement Coordinators. **Education and Training, Initiatives and Awareness** Design and deliver training on accessibility, human rights, anti-oppression, and cultural competency. Oversee educational events and campaigns, including EDI Week and accessibility awareness programs. Oversee institutional awareness campaigns, inclusion programs, and workshops, and events to strengthen inclusive culture and foster a respectful learning and working environment. Partner with HR, Student Affairs, and academic units to embed equity practices in operations. **Community Engagement and Reporting** Supervise the Equity and Community Engagement Coordinator in maintaining relationships with student equity groups and community partners. Supervise the AODA Coordinator on institutional accessibility reporting to the province. Prepare data and reports for the Director and the Ministry as required. **Advisory and Collaboration** Serve as the institutional advisor on accessibility and equity policy implementation. Support the Director in risk assessment, strategic planning, and responding to emerging legislative updates. Perform other duties as assigned. ## **Qualifications** A Bachelors Degree in a related field. A Masters Degree is considered an asset. At least five (5) years of directly related experience in human rights, accessibility, or EDI program delivery and compliance management, or related experience. In-depth Knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights Legislation: knowledge is applied in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., AODA, Ontario Human Rights Code) Leadership and Management Skills Excellent project management and policy development skills. Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills Proficiency with data management and reporting systems.
