We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our construction team in Waterloo, Ontario. We are a progressive developer/builder of residential high rise; midrise and mixed-use developments located in Southwestern Ontario. Our ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys full responsibility for directing, organizing and controlling projects of varying size and complexity.You are a self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, outstanding communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership to the project team including project cost, schedule, safety and the productive effort needed to meet specific requirements and contractual obligations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensuring the project is completed in compliance with the contract requirementsAdvanced experience with field operations emphasizing on high return activitiesResponsible for managing the construction process, inclusive of defining project scope and identifying a critical path, defining key milestones, and leading the timing of each construction stagePrioritize, plan, and coordinate potential risks and technical challengesLiaise with partners, consultants, construction management team, building trades, building department and municipal staffResponsible for financial monitoring of the project.Knowledge and understanding the project and contract requirements, evaluating and approving construction methodsOverall project planning, development of the construction plan, securing and maintaining all necessary insurance and permitsProject organization and staffing, chair project start-up meetings, progress and sub trade meetings, scheduling, task definition and breakdownEquipment selection, budget/cost control system preparation, maintenance and forecastingQuality control planning and management, material procurementSafety planning, monitoring and managementEnsuring project correspondence and records are properly managed and maintainedTraining of project staff, continued self-education and improvementQUALIFICATIONS:Construction-related degree or diploma (Construction Management, CET, Engineering Degree, etc.) an asset5 years of construction experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor / BuilderExperience as a Senior Project Manager building new ground-up high-rise and midrise residential projects and mixed-use developments with project values of $2MM and aboveExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong problem-solving skillsCombination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education programExtensive working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processesSolid understanding of current construction practices; strong working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and project managementProven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budgetAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholder's needs and identify solutionsCapable of anticipating issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and scheduleProficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Bluebeam softwareMust have and maintain a valid provincial drivers license
