**NON-UNION POSTING** **Information Privacy Officer** Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) provides first class education to students and families throughout Huron and Perth Counties. Our vision is to ***engage*****,** ***inspire*****,** ***innovate***, because we are ***always learning*****.** We are accepting applications for the following Non-Union 1.0FTE permanent Information Privacy Officer at the Learning Resource Centre in Clinton, Ontario. **Reports to:** Executive Information Technology Officer **Summary:** Under the general direction of the Executive Information Technology Officer, the Information Privacy and Access Officer provides leadership in privacy, freedom of information (FOI), and enterprise-level IT operations. The role provides leadership and direction on privacy and access legislation, ensuring compliance and overseeing related processes while guiding staff in best practices. It also supports the stability, integrity, and security of AMDSB''s Central Data Centre, domain services, and core infrastructure by contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of secure and reliable operational systems. **Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Board staff, OASBO, ECNO, IPC, etc. to ensure accurate privacy initiatives are developed for the Board, providing guidance on the interpretation, implementation, and compliance with legislative and Board processes related to records and privacy-related matters for all staff members. - Knowledge of provincial legislation regarding student records, privacy, and access laws, including MFIPPA. - Support the creation of procedures and policies related to privacy and FOI. - Support employees at all levels of the organization to address the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. - Support Privacy Impact Assessments. - Assist in the investigation of suspected and confirmed breaches and implement corrective strategies and additional training/support as needed. - Participate in the drafting of reports and responses to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) regarding breaches and privacy complaints. - Work collaboratively to implement recommendations and required actions resulting from Privacy Audits and/or directives issued by the Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC). - Support the work on large-scale projects involving multiple departments/board-wide technology related initiatives - Manage and support the Board''s D2L Learning Management System (LMS), including the development and maintenance of courses, course shells, and course components. Oversee user enrollment processes, including scripting, data automation, and nightly integrations. Provide advanced technical support, develop custom tools or enhancements, and manage integrations between D2L and other enterprise systems to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable operation. - Work collaboratively with the Board assigned Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching (TELT) contact to develop their course content to meet the needs of staff and students. - Ability to independently review complex technical architectures and determine the best proactive approach to obtaining and maintaining strong IT security posture (e.g. routine maintenance tasks, proactive testing and implementation of patches/ updates). **Qualifications:** - 3-year College Diploma in Computer Studies or related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience would be considered. - Certificate in Privacy and Information Management; or working toward or willing to complete. - Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in the field of office administration, privacy and records preferably in the public sector. - Minimum of 2 years relevant IT work experience required in any of the following: a. development of applications in Visual Studio using the .NET framework (Visual Basic) b. development of Web content using JavaScript, WordPress, HTML, Bootstrap and CSS - Experience in creating process documentation and training guides. - Excellent planning and organizational skills with experience in the effective management of multiple projects and demonstrated ability to successfully complete tasks. - Demonstrate personal initiative, sound judgement, strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to function effectively and collaboratively with various employee groups and external contacts. - Well versed in privacy ethics, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation. - Experience in project management in a collaborative environment involving cross-functional teams on time-sensitive tasks and long-term audiences. - Advanced written and verbal communications skills with excellent editing skills. - Support the development of enhanced training opportunities connected to information privacy, including the delivery of training virtually and in-person sessions. **Hours of Work:** 35hours per week **Compensation Package Details**: **Rate of Pay**: $74,297 - $86,522per Level 5in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Non-Union, Management, Administrative and Supervisory Employees **Pension Plan**: Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System () **Health & Dental Benefits**: - Extended and Supplementary Health, Paramedical Services, Dental, including Orthodontics, Out of Province/Country and Health Care Spending Account through - Comprehensive short-term and long-term disability coverage plans - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through TELUS which includes: - 24/7 confidential support - Access to information on personal fitness, nutrition, career, financial and legal advice; relationship & family support, and overall wellbeing resources. **Note** - A criminal background check will be part of the recruitment process. **Why Join AMDSB?** - We believe our students are at the core of what we do; we are committed to creating inclusive, inspiring and innovative learning environments. - Great work culture with staff who embrace and seek meaningful careers. - Work with a diverse and dynamic team that fosters a culture of belonging and collaboration. - Competitive compensation package, which is outlined above **Apply today!** Interested applicants are requested to apply through.
