Communicating clearly with project managers, production, design, and sales is crucial.Be computer literate working in the sign and fabrication industry will require you to use a multitude of softwares such as Adobe Acrobat, scaling software, Excel, Illustrator or similar, and our CRM/quote management system.Have a strong understanding of how fabricated signs are built. You should be able to determine construction methods, materials, lighting (when applicable), and installation considerations simply from drawings, descriptions, and reference photos.Be confident reading architectural drawings, construction drawings, and technical details, including being able to scale drawings to determine accurate dimensions.Have an exceptional eye for detail. Estimating requires accuracy, thoroughness, and the ability to spot missing information before it becomes a problem.Be self-sufficient and capable of managing your own workload, deadlines, and priorities.Be able to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments as project timelines can shift quickly.Have the ability to perform site checks when required including verifying measurements, taking photos, and gathering missing data.As an Estimator, the team will rely on you to provide accurate, organized,and detailed costing for fabricated signage projects. The duties included inthis (but not limited to) are:Reviewing drawings, architectural plans, RFQs, specifications, and client-provided documentation to extract all relevant fabrication data.Scaling drawings to determine accurate sizes of signage components.Determining materials, construction methods, hardware, lighting (if applicable), and installation requirements based on drawings, photos, and descriptions.Inputting all data into our quote management system, including descriptions of how signs are built, materials required, labour hours, subcontractor costs, and any additional notes needed for production.Coordinating with project managers, production managers, and designers to clarify missing or conflicting information.Performing occasional site checks to verify measurements or conditions.Ensuring all quotes are accurate, competitive, and aligned with company production capabilities.With great responsibility comes great reward!
