Opportunities for flexible work are available.ResponsibilitiesSupport of the bid phase development of innovative and cost-effective designWork with and provide direction to the interdisciplinary engineering team and design subcontractors to develop competitive, cost-effective designsWorking within the pursuit team during the bid phase to help identify key design risks and develop plans to mitigate risksAdvance bid phase design concepts to IFC designs for successful pursuitsOversee engineering services during construction and field review efforts during execution phaseSupport efforts to capture and spread design lessons learned and innovations to all DistrictsSupport the development of early and mid-career geotechnical engineersQualificationsBachelors degree in Civil or Geological Engineering is required; Graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering is a plusExperience as a qualified Geologist and/or and/or Geomorphologist would be an asset.Must be registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).15+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience with 10+ years providing geotechnical solutionsin ports and marine-related infrastructure projectsStrong all-around academic knowledge of geotechnical engineeringExperience with design of docking structures such as combi-walls, sheet pile walls, tangent walls, cellular structures, experience with evaluating underwater slope stability and related impacts to pile supported structures, driven, drilled and rock socketed pile design...Professional experience and capability with finite element software (PLAXIS 2-D, 3-D or FLAC)Comprehension of pertinent standards and codesExperience working in a team setting and directing the work of othersExcellent communication skills (both oral and written)Strong people skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environmentThe physical ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environmental conditionsAbility to travel to project sitesEPC and/or Design-Build experience, preferred #LI-MD1Other Requirements: Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment Perform work safely and effectively.
